It has taken me only two days to read this book; once you start you'll want to read to the end. The story is so heartfelt and obviously draws on the author's experience as a teacher and an ''M.K.'' (missionary's kid). nPerhaps my years at boarding school and many years living overseas give me a better perspective than some but I defy anyone to read this book and not be affected by it's message. The characters come to life through Michele's adept and talented use of language, you feel a personal relationship with Casey, Luke and Ben very quickly. The story unfolds very naturally and is skillfully written.I hope that Ms.Phoenix has more books in the making.

Fantastic. A must-read for anyone either considering or already involved in ministry. May this novel be preventative medicine AND a source of healing. Well done, Ms. Phoenix. You've done the missionary world a favor.

Your story is wonderfully written and strikes a profound chord in my heart, as you know. You describe the struggles and challenges of MKs but you also show our hope and the compassion of our good God. Pain is never wasted and questions are never trivial. The message applies to every one. Well done, my friend!

I finished reading the novel just minutes ago. I got hooked and couldn't put it down! I'm in love with Luke, of course, but heartbroken for Ben. You don't know me, Michelle, but you've touched me with this story. Thanks for ''taking me away'' for a few hours. Karen.

As you are an MK and someone who has worked with MK's for so long, you are one of the few who could write about this topic from the ''inside''. Having read some of your previous writing, I know your portrayal will be accurate and profound. Thanks for doing your part to promote the cause... Judy and I will be sending your website info to our entire mailing list and hope to drum up more readership for you, Michelle. God bless.

Can't think of anyone more qualified to write on this topic. I'm pre-ordering now!

The prayer letters that Michelle has written throughout the years, have kept us at the edge of our seats and used up our kleenex boxes!! God has truly given you a special talent, Michelle. We feel honored to personally have known you at BFA!

Michèle! I can't wait to read your book! You were always so inspirational in person, I can't imagine how wise you must be when people like me can't interrupt what you are saying... =] God Bless!

I am so proud to call myself a friend and former student of Michele's. I can't wait to read the book, and have no doubt it will be a voice for all us ''MK's'' who never could quite put our experiences and emotions into words.

Michelle, I think of you often. I miss you terribly, and am so so happy that I found you! As I was reading your acknowledgments, you're final statement hoped that you would have left 1/2 the mark that we have on you, the truth is that you've left an unmovable one. I cannot begin to thank you for all that you did for me while at BFA and through all the dark areas of my stay and leave there. I love you deeply and hope that we can keep in touch. Love, Kimberli
